The Thunderbirds have once again demonstrated the powerful impact of Arizona golf, announcing a record-breaking $20.1 million raised for local charities from the 2026 WM Phoenix Open. This is the highest single-year total in the tournament’s 91-year history.

Since WM became title sponsor in 2010, the tournament has generated more than $180 million for Arizona nonprofits. Overall, The Thunderbirds have now contributed more than $246 million throughout tournament history.

“The WM Phoenix Open continues to show what’s possible when this community comes together behind a greater purpose,” said 2026 Tournament Chairman Jason Eisenberg. “Eclipsing the $20 million mark for the first time speaks to the dedication of our group, our partners, and the greatest fans in golf.”

The announcement was made at Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center, a longtime beneficiary of Thunderbirds Charities. Since 2006, the organization has awarded more than $900,000 to Ability360, supporting adaptive sports, independent living programs, and facility upgrades that empower people with disabilities across Maricopa and Pinal counties.

“Ability360 has long appreciated the incredible generosity that The Thunderbirds and Thunderbirds Charities have provided,” said Ability360 President and CEO Chris Rodriguez.

The 2027 WM Phoenix Open returns to TPC Scottsdale February 8–14. As one of the PGA TOUR’s most iconic events and a consistent leader in sustainability as a zero-waste tournament, the WM Phoenix Open continues to strengthen Arizona’s golf community while delivering massive economic and charitable benefits.

This latest achievement underscores why golf is good for Arizona, driving philanthropy, community support, and economic vitality across the state.
