Scottsdale, which topped second-place finisher Fort Myers, Florida by 12.9 points, earned a score of 92.5 (out of 100) with 25 public courses per 100,000 residents and an average five-day stay costing $1,079 driving its No. 1 ranking across 411 destinations considered.
Four other Arizona cities cracked the top 20: Yuma No. 3, Goodyear No. 7, Mesa No. 11 and Phoenix No. 19.
