The 2021 AIG Women’s Open, held at Scotland’s famed Carnoustie Golf Links, boosted locals’ perceptions of golf, a new report found. With data gathered by a before-and-after tournament survey, the number of people who said they would consider participating in golf more often jumped by 67 percent. What’s more, the number of people who agreed that women golfers can inspire others increased by 20 percent, and 13 percent more viewed Carnoustie as a community asset.
