Two golf nonprofit leaders from the Arizona Golf House earned well-deserved spots on WISE Arizona’s Women to Watch 2026 list, highlighting the growing influence of women driving positive change in Arizona golf.

Raquel Romero, Community Outreach Coordinator for First Tee – Phoenix, was honored in the Emerging Talent category. Through the Inspira initiative, Raquel is breaking down barriers and expanding access to golf for Latina youth and underserved communities across the Valley. Her work reflects a deep commitment to making the game welcoming and inclusive for young people of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Mckenzie O’Brien, Tournament Director for the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA), was recognized in the Rising Leader category. Since joining the JGAA team, Mckenzie has played a key role in strengthening junior golf programming, creating more opportunities for young golfers, and helping build affordable pathways into the sport. Her leadership is helping shape the next generation of players and future leaders in Arizona golf.

Both women are tenants at the Arizona Golf House, the collaborative hub on the grounds of Papago Golf Club that brings together 11 nonprofit organizations dedicated to growing the game, advancing youth development, and supporting Arizona’s golf industry. Their recognition through WISE Arizona — part of the national Women in Sports & Events network — underscores the powerful impact women are making in sports leadership and community engagement statewide.

The Arizona Alliance for Golf celebrates these achievements and remains committed to supporting the people and programs that make golf more accessible, inclusive, and vibrant for all Arizonans. Congratulations to Raquel and Mckenzie — your work is inspiring a brighter future for the game we love.
