This past mid-February, the Cactus and Pine chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America brought the Arizona golf community together for their first-ever trade show and demo day at Papago Golf Club.

The event welcomed more than 100 superintendents, golf course professionals, and industry partners. Forty-two sponsors and exhibitors — including Toro, John Deere, Bingham, Yamaha, E-Z-GO, and many others — showcased the latest innovations in turf care and equipment, with a strong focus on smarter, more resource-conscious solutions.

What stood out most was the shared commitment to stewardship. Cactus and Pine members led thoughtful conversations around water conservation, responsible pesticide use, soil health, and sustainable practices tailored to Arizona’s unique desert climate. The day highlighted how new technologies and smarter approaches are helping courses maintain outstanding playing conditions while using fewer resources.

Events like this reinforce why organizations such as Cactus and Pine are so important to the future of golf in Arizona. By championing innovation, environmental responsibility, and collaboration, they help ensure our courses remain vibrant, sustainable, and enjoyable for generations to come.
