The February issue of Arizona Golf Insider features a story by Robert Earle Howells titled “Using Technology to Manage Water Usage.” In it, Howells interviews local directors of agronomy to learn more about the science of golf course management, especially as it relates to the Southwest.

He calls on Rob Collins director of greens and grounds at Paradise Valley Country Club and Water Committee Chairman for the Arizona Alliance for Golf, Ernie Pock director of agronomy for Grayhawk Golf Club, Seth Miller director of agronomy at Troon Country Club, and USGA Green Section Consultant Brian Whitlark.

Collectively, they provide easy-to-understand explanations of complex science of agronomy and how it’s being applied to the golf industry to “micromanage every precious drop” of water.
