Representing one of the best ideas ever, AZ GOLF welcomed the world’s top adaptive golfers to Grand Canyon State for the second annual Arizona Adaptive Open Championship, held December 8-10 at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix.

The 36-hole stroke-play event showcased 60 WR4GD-certified competitors vying for the overall Men’s and Women’s championships, along with titles within their individual impairment categories.

The championship reflected AZ GOLF’s commitment to creating meaningful playing opportunities for golfers of all backgrounds, skill levels, and abilities. Through extensive research and collaboration within the adaptive golf community, AZ GOLF delivered an authentic championship environment while reducing barriers to participation.

The 60-player field included golfers with physical or intellectual disabilities who hold a handicap index of 36.4 or lower representing three countries (Canada, Italy and USA) and 23 states.

Impairment Categories (Based on US Adaptive Golf Alliance) included Lower Limb Impairments, Arm Impairments, Combined Arm and Leg Impairments, Seated Golfers, Visual Impairments, Short In Stature, and Intellectual Disabilities
