The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America hosted its 2024 annual conference in Phoenix in late January, welcoming more than 11,000 turfgrass professionals, industry leaders, and vendors to Phoenix. Thanks to the work of the Cactus and Pine Golf Course Superintendents Association (CPGCSA), Visit Phoenix, Arizona Golf Association, and more, the state’s golf industry had an opportunity to shine.
“Hosting the GIS [Golf Industry Show] gave Arizona a great opportunity to showcase its best asset: exceptional weather. The sold-out convention not only highlighted our region, but it reinforced the overall vibrancy of the golf industry as well,” said Ernie Pock president of the CPGCSA. “The opportunity to host the GIS, here, in a place already known as a worldwide destination for golf-related events and activities, really enhanced the experience and underscored our state’s positive role within the golf industry.”
The AAG was proud to partner with our member organizations to share information about the industry with stakeholders and partners at the conference’s Sustainability Showcase, which highlighted the multitude of ways Arizona is leading the way when it comes to innovation and forward-thinking management practices to keep golf at the forefront of water leadership.
