Forging strong, collaborative working relationships with elected leaders who help shape water policy is a priority for the Arizona Alliance for Golf. Recently, the leadership met with State Senator Sine Kerr – Senate Majority Whip and Chair of the Senate Water Committee – to discuss the issues facing Arizona golf. We shared compelling data points supporting the golf industry’s water leadership, as well as the other economic and social benefits of the game.
Senator Kerr, who speaks with a powerful voice on statewide water policy, shared her insights for the upcoming legislative session. She discussed a variety of issues the state may contemplate in 2024, along with the ways Arizona golf can best prepare and contribute. The lively and enjoyable conversation deepened the relationship with the senator who, along with her husband, children, and grandchildren, is an avid golfer. The AAG will continue to host relationship-building conversations with policymakers to share our story and further awareness surrounding our collective interests.
