Arizona’s nationally recognized sports and tourism economy recently took center stage as the Arizona Alliance for Golf (AAG) joined Visit Phoenix, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Arizona Convention Center for a panel discussion with more than 200 elected officials, business leaders, and legislators visiting from Raleigh, North Carolina.

The delegation traveled to the Valley of the Sun to learn how Arizona has built one of the nation’s premier tourism and sports ecosystems — and how aspects of that model could be replicated in their own region. Visit Phoenix President & CEO Ron Price — also an AAG Board member — highlighted the strong partnerships between government, tourism, sports, and private-sector leaders that continue to drive Arizona’s success.

Golf remains a cornerstone of Arizona’s tourism economy, generating significant economic impact and attracting visitors from around the world. The discussion reinforced Arizona’s growing reputation as a national model for how sports and tourism can fuel economic growth, community investment, and long-term regional success.
