Golf industry leaders recently hosted Luis Heredia, State Director for U.S. Senator Mark Kelly, at Papago Golf Club for an in-depth tour of the golf course to learn more about water-saving investments at the facility. Arizona superintendents made the best of the opportunity to share valuable insights with Heredia about golf’s minimal water use and ongoing water stewardship.
Afterward, a roundtable discussion included constructive dialogue with Arizona golf nonprofit leaders to share information about new initiatives engaging local youths in underserved communities through the game of golf.
As the Arizona Alliance for Golf continues to build relationships with key leaders in the policy arena, visits like this underscore the industry’s deep impact in Arizona and provide a foundation for future engagement on the issues facing the future of our industry.
