Thankfully, as the article also points out, advances in technology and overall water management practices have led to increased efficiencies as well as appealing wintertime golf conditions.

“We consider ourselves stewards of these (water) resources,” said Don Rea, Secretary of PGA of America and one of many individuals and private entities supporting the Arizona Alliance for Golf, “and then at the end of the day, we’re trying to have a nice product out there so people continue coming to Arizona.”
